The Fungi Hunt Project is the brainchild of artist Lydia Hansen (they/she). After struggling to find public art opportunities suitable for their fiber art practice, they decided to create one – and the Fungi Hunt Project was born!
Lydia is a fiber and installation artist based in southeast Minnesota. They are known for their immersive, site-responsive works that invite audiences to reconnect with the world and all their senses. Through sculptures and large-scale installations, they blend visual and experiential art to spark observation and curiosity.
Since launching their practice in 2020, Lydia’s work has been exhibited at Bloomington Center for the Arts, Pump House Arts, Austin Artworks Center, Chatfield Center for the Arts, and Threshold Arts. Additional exhibitions are forthcoming in 2027 at Calendula Gallery and across Olmsted County (MN).
